The road from Kampot to Kep is paved, smooth and picturesque. It’s a 25km, 30-45 minute trip from Kampot though the scenic Cambodian countryside. Motodups from Kampot start at about $3-$4 one way and $8-$10 round trip. Tuk-tuks will cost you about $8-$15 for a round trip. That’s depending how long you spend in Kep and the number of passengers.
Phnom Sar Sear, Kep City is a
fabulous natural and cultural resort situated at a distance
of 14 km. from the provincial town of Kam Pot.
This mountain is called Phnom Sar Sear because, according to
Khmer legend mentioned above, when Prince Sakor Reach led
the troops to this place, he got off his horse and moved
furtively 2 ahead of his pursuers along the mountainside,
where at that time there was an island to which he led.
Thus , the mountain was called Phnom Sar Sear is one
of the major Tourist Attractions in Kep City which you must
not miss during your Kep City Tours.
Phnom Sar Sear is composed of
three small mountains about 1,5
square kilometers. It is about
40 meters high.
The site feature two natural
caves–Phnom Dorei Sar and Phnom
Ach Prochiev–which tourists can
explore. In Phnom Domrei Sar
cave, there is a beautiful
mountain well called Viel Sre
Muoy Roy. In the past, this site
was also popular with
filmmakers.
At the foot of the
mountain are a number of small
of small halls where clergymen
and nuns meditate. Along the way
to the mountaintop, there is a
Buddhist pagoda where monks
live.
On the mountain sites a colorful,
finely sculpted stupa built in
1964 by Prince Rasmei Sophoan. A
place of worship, it also house
a Buddha relic.
Phnom Sar Sear is an idyllic

On the mountaintop of Phnom Sar Sear you will find a
colourful stupa which is a fine example of artistic
excellence. It was built in 1964 by the princess Rasmey Sou
Phoan.
The Stupa is a holy worshipping place where, it is believed,
the three sacred objects of Buddhist and the cremated ash of
Buddha are kept. There are meandering stairs, pagodas with
monks and cottages for nuns and common people set across the
area from the mountain foot to the top.
On the mountaintop, you will experience a scenery of rice
fields, forest, local villages, island and the vast sea. The
mountain is also a worshipping place for people who come
here for praying.
The fresh air and beautiful natural scenery

the year. From the mountain top, visitors have an excellent
view of the rice paddies, the islands and the sea below, as
